How to upload an mp4 video file in Joomla?

Smart Slider only supports mp4 file uploading from the 3.5.1.30 version. So make sure you have an updated Smart Slider version.

Go to your Joomla admin menu: System -> Global Configuration (under Setup) -> Media (in the left list)

There you should either add this to "Legal MIME Types":

video/mp4

as you see here, with the necessary commas:

or if you don't want any kind of restrictions, turn off "Restrict Uploads":

After this, you will be able to upload mp4 files through Smart Slider's media manager.
